About Brendan Quigley — Ottawa Hockey
Born in Carleton Place, Ontario, forty minutes west of Ottawa, Brendan grew up skating on frozen farm ponds and listening to Daniel Alfredsson postgame pressers on a tinny kitchen radio. His father was a federal civil servant who held Senators season tickets through every lean year; Brendan inherited both the tickets and the quiet, grinding faith that sustained them. He studied journalism at Carleton University, covered the Senators beat for the Ottawa Sun for six years before MiTL poached him with a national platform.
Ottawa Senators Fan Perspective
Cautiously optimistic but fundamentally scarred — he believes in this young core the way a man believes in a car that's broken down on him twice. He will defend the Senators against all outsiders with alarming ferocity, then turn around and critique the power play for forty-five minutes.
Ottawa Local Coverage
References Shawarma Palace on Bank Street as the only acceptable post-game meal; calls the Canal 'the greatest hockey rink on Earth' every single January.
Rivalry Stance
Has a pathological hatred of Toronto Maple Leafs fans who show up to Canadian Tire Centre in Leafs jerseys — calls them 'colonizers' on-air with a grin that means he's half-serious.
