Norwegian-American, born in Rosemount, raised in South Saint Paul, played high school hockey at Simley — a respectable program, she will note. Her family has had Minnesota hockey in its veins for three generations: her grandfather flooded the backyard rink every December with a garden hose, her mother played college hockey at UMD, and Ingie covered the Wild beat for the Pioneer Press for fifteen years before MiTL came calling.
