Priya is the daughter of a Tamil immigrant software engineer and a second-generation Irish-American nurse who met at UCSF Medical Center and raised their family in the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco near Irving Street and 46th Avenue, blocks from Ocean Beach.
