Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is saying their dog kennels are overflowing, highest capacity in years, and they are begging us, the community, to step up.
This isn't just some abstract number; this is a crisis unfolding right here in our city. These are good dogs, y'all, just looking for a warm lap and a patch of grass that isn't concrete. I’m thinking about all those dogs waiting, hoping someone from Oak Cliff, or Pleasant Grove, or even way out in Mesquite will come give them a second chance. It’s hard to hear, especially knowing how many good folks we have in this town.
