Your Neighbors Are Stepping Up After the Storm

So here's the deal— you know how the storms just ripped through the Fox Valley? Pretty rough stuff, especially down in Neenah and Appleton, which is wild. You see all the news about power outages and trees down, and your heart just goes out to folks. But what I keep hearing, and what really sticks with me, is how everyone's just jumping in to help each other out. Neighbors helping neighbors, you betcha.

Yeah so, the news out of Neenah, especially, really highlights it. I saw folks out there with chainsaws clearing debris, sharing generators, making sure everyone had what they needed. It wasn't just city crews, though they're working overtime, it was folks just showing up. Think about our own neighborhood, like over by the Fox River Trail or down near the Neville Public Museum — if something like that hit, you know your buddies would be over there with a truck and a rake before you even called. That’s just how we do things around here.

* People are bringing food and water to those without power.

* Volunteers are helping clear downed trees and debris from yards.

* Local businesses are offering discounts or free services to affected residents.

It reminds you that even when the weather gets rough, the community here is tougher. It’s that same spirit you see every Sunday morning in the Lambeau parking lots, everyone helping each other set up their tailgates. It's just part of being from this corner of Wisconsin. For us here in Green Bay, it's a good reminder that those folks down the road in Neenah and Appleton are our neighbors, and we gotta look out for each other when things get tough.
