LA made 17,000 calls for junk last month. What gives?

Okay so check it—

### Your neighbors just want junk picked up, no mames

So, everyone's always talking about big city issues, right? Like, the housing crisis, the traffic on the 10, all that. But when you look at what people are *actually* calling 311 for, it's literally all about trash. And not just, like, normal trash, but *junk*.

According to the latest 311 service request data, the top two issues people called about were "Item Pickups" with a massive 8,818 requests, followed super closely by "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup" at 8,055 requests. That's almost 17,000 calls just for people wanting stuff gone from their streets! Then you got "Graffiti Removal" with 2,571 requests and "Homeless Encampment" requests at 2,139.

It really puts things into perspective, you know? While the city council debates things that feel super abstract, people are out here just trying to keep their blocks clean, especially in places that don't always get the same love as, like, Beverly Hills. It's the basic stuff that makes our neighborhoods feel like home. What are we gonna do about all this junk, though? That’s the real question.

That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.

Oye, Keith and the crew are gonna be all over this mañana — tune in live at mornings.live.
