🏛 EXCLUSIVE: CITY HALL DATA — Only on The Desk

Your 311 calls say EVERYTHING about Philly streets

SHARE

Listen, your City Hall is doing… well, it’s doing *stuff* with our wooder and our streets, or nah? You see the 311 requests for 'Miscellaneous' being top of the list? That's not even a little bit surprising. It just means folks are callin' in about everything and anything, from a broken jawn down by Penn's Landing to somethin' wild goin' down in Bridesburg.

**What's Buggin' Us?**

When you break down what people are actually calling 311 for, 'Miscellaneous' is always up there. But what's really catchin' my eye is 'Other (Streets)' and 'Street Trees' makin' the top of the list. That tells you something about where our heads are at, don't it? We care about our blocks. We care about the trees that actually make it feel like a neighborhood and not just concrete.

* 'Miscellaneous'

* 'Other (Streets)'

* 'Street Trees'

I'm not even gonna hold you, the fact that street trees are a top concern tells me we still got that community pride, even when the city sometimes feels like it's falling apart around us. We want nice things, we want green things in our neighborhoods.

What does this mean for us? It means folks at City Hall better be payin' attention to those street-level issues. We're watchin' what they do with our tax dollars, especially when it comes to the basic stuff that impacts our day-to-day, like walkin' down the street without fallin' into a pothole or havin' shade on a hot Philly summer day. That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
