🏛 EXCLUSIVE: CITY HALL DATA — Only on The Desk

Regina housing is going wild. Can you even afford it?

SHARE

Your housing market is the only story this week, eh?

This is Regina — yeah, we know what it sounds like, and we've heard your joke. Now sit down and listen.

*Tânisi* Regina. Darlene Chicken-Lawson here, and if you’ve been tuning in this week, *oh for sure* you know what’s been on everyone’s mind at City Hall. Our housing market, eh? It’s been the big talk, and not just because it's a slow news week.

We’ve seen a lot of chatter about affordability, and how tough it is for folks, especially our young people, to find a place that doesn't feel like it costs an arm and a leg. From the Crescent Neighbourhood to the North Central, it's the same story.

Here’s the rundown:

* The city council is looking at some new zoning ideas to maybe get more housing built.

* There's a real push for more affordable rental units, not just condos.

* We're hearing from people all over the city about how important it is to keep our community strong, even with all these changes.

It’s about making sure Regina stays Regina, for everyone. We want our kids to be able to build a life right here, down the street from their kokum, eh?

That's your "This Week at City Hall" from me, Darlene Chicken-Lawson. *Ekosi.*
