Your City Hall Watch: Still Waiting, Still Watching

Okay, so this is actually wild – a quiet week at City Hall? Impossible! I've been checking the portal, calling my contacts, and even tried peeking through the windows at the corner of 3rd and 23rd. Nothing.

Usually, I'm watching for the next round of debates on our lovely bike lanes. You know how Saskatoon loves to talk about infrastructure, especially anything that messes with driving. Or maybe it’s the perennial discussion about what to do with the old bus barns – always a topic, never a resolution.

* No new civic data released this week.

* No major council meetings or committee reports.

* The usual buzz about city planning seemed to have taken a holiday.

It's like everyone decided to go fishing on the South Saskatchewan River at the same time. While it's nice to think everyone's out enjoying the prairie sunshine, it does make you wonder what’s bubbling just beneath the surface. Is this the calm before the storm? Or did everyone just finally agree on something for once?

Saskatoon — seven bridges, two rivers, and something happening you haven't heard about yet.

Now he's applying that infrastructure thinking to local news. Read our story →
