Orioles fans polite? VegasInsiders need to visit Baltimore.

Your Orioles fans are polite? Yeah, right, hon

Listen— I'ma say this once, and I need y'all to hear me: somebody out there, some *VegasInsider.com* or whatever, just ranked Orioles fans the second most *polite* in all of Major League Baseball. Second only to the A's, they said. *The A's!* I clicked my tongue so hard just now I think I chipped a tooth. Polite? We're from Baltimore, hon. We bleed orange and black, sure, but we also bleed Old Bay and a healthy dose of "don't even *think* about cutting me off on the JFX." We ain't out here sipping tea and asking politely for a foul ball. We're yelling "O!" during the national anthem like it's a birthright, and if you're wearing the wrong colors near Camden Yards, you're gonna hear about it.

### This Ain't No Tea Party

Now, don't get me wrong. We're good people, Baltimoreans. We'll give you the shirt off our back, especially if it's a vintage Cal Ripken jersey, but we expect the same energy back. Polite just ain't the word I'd use. Passionate? Absolutely. Fiercely loyal? You bet your bottom dollar. But polite? That's like calling a trip through Lexington Market on a Saturday afternoon "quiet." It just doesn't compute.

* This survey clearly missed the section * Where we argue about where to get the best crab cake * Or how to properly pronounce "Baltimore" (it's Bawlmer, dummy) * Or the collective groan when the opposing pitcher takes too long

I was at the Super Bowl parade in 2013, freezing my toes off for the Ravens, and believe me, there wasn't a "polite" bone in that crowd's body. We were loud, we were proud, and we were ready to party. That's Baltimore, hon — we don't break, we just bend loud. So, next time you come to a game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, come ready for some noise, some good-natured heckling, and maybe a little spilled Natty Boh. But polite? Nah, we'll leave that for Philly fans.
