Your Baltimore Ravens draft class is a head-scratcher, hon.
From the jump, I gotta tell ya, the feeling down here in Baltimore is… *pensive*. We went into this draft with our eyes on some big, strong offensive line help, maybe a tackle who could anchor the left side for Lamar for the next decade. Instead, the Baltimore Ravens brought in a lot of talent, sure, but the immediate impact feels a little like trying to put out a fire with a garden hose when you really needed the whole fire department. Our first-rounder, wide receiver Malik Washington, out of Northwestern, he’s quick, he’s got good hands, but another wide receiver in the first? That’s not what we were hoping for at The Brewer's Art on North Charles Street. We needed some trench warfare, some big fellas to protect the future of this franchise.
Now, don't get me wrong, hon, these young men are gonna wear purple and black, and that means we root for 'em. The picks in the later rounds, like defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo from Louisiana State and cornerback Daequan Hardy from Penn State, they’re bringing some much-needed depth to both sides of the ball. We also picked up a running back, Isaiah Davis from South Dakota State. The Baltimore Ravens clearly prioritized adding versatile athletes, and there’s a quiet hope that some of these guys will develop into key contributors. It’s not euphoric, not exactly, but there’s a quiet determination here that Eric DeCosta knows what he’s doing. We're just trying to make sense of the board, that's all.
My one-word grade for this draft class, from my gut? *Intriguing*.
