Alright, listen up, Calgary. We're seeing some real movement at City Hall that could shape where you live and what you see when you're driving down Deerfoot. According to the latest Civic Intelligence Monitor data, collected just today on May 19, 2026, the Calgary Planning Commission has been busy. On March 12, 2026, they carried not one, but *two* separate motions that recommend Council give three readings to some pretty significant reports: CPC2026-0209 and CPC2026-0143.
For real though, this isn't just bureaucratic jargon. When you see names like Nathan Hawryluk, Thom Mahler, Charles Boechler, Katherine Wagner, and Chris Hardwicke all voting 'Yes' to push these reports forward, it means they're serious about changes in our city's development.
* **Report CPC2026-0209:** This one passed with votes from Hawryluk and Mahler. We're talking about land use changes here, folks. * **Report CPC2026-0143:** This also moved forward, supported by Boechler, Wagner, and Hardwicke. Again, likely more development and planning shifts.
And the development permits are flowing like crude from a new well, too. Our monitors show 29 commercial and new construction permits were issued in Calgary this week alone.
