Your next flight out of Midway might take forever
Okay so, listen. You know how you're always trying to get through O'Hare or Midway, and it's like, a whole thing? Especially if you're flying out for spring break, right? Well, if you thought getting TSA PreCheck was gonna save you, guess again. NBC 5's been hearing from a bunch of people who are stressed because it's taking way too long to get PreCheck approved. Like, we're talking weeks, maybe months. So if you were hoping to breeze through security, you probably missed your shot for this year's trips.
### What This Means for Chicago Travelers
This isn't just a minor inconvenience, nah. For us in Chicago, where O'Hare is like, a city in itself and Midway handles so many of our quick trips, this is real. You're trying to visit your family down in Texas or hit up Cancún, and now you're stuck in the regular line with everyone else. It's gonna be a mess.
* You'll need to get to the airport way, way earlier than you think. Forget that "one hour before" nonsense. * Expect lines to stretch back, probably past the Dunkin' Donuts in Terminal 1 or all the way to the blue line at Midway. * If you're traveling with kids, especially, prepare for extra meltdowns and extra waiting.
It's one of those things where you think you're being smart, planning ahead, and then the system just gets clogged up. This city runs on people moving around, you know? And when something like this happens, it just gums up the whole operation, from the CTA lines to the traffic on the Kennedy. Plan accordingly, Chi-Town.
