You won't believe what kept a stranded driver company
Look— I've seen some wild stuff on our North Texas highways, what with the sheer miles of asphalt and the way folks drive around here. But when Carlie Butler was stuck on the highway between Abilene and Lipan, you know, way out west of Fort Worth, she got a visitor that'll make you double-take. We're talking a *kangaroo*, y'all. Just hopping along, right there on the side of the road, keeping her company. I mean, my *madre* always said Texas has everything, but I don't think she meant actual kangaroos just out for a stroll past Granbury.
So, What Happened?
* Carlie Butler was driving from Abilene towards Lipan. * Her car broke down on the highway. * A kangaroo appeared and hung out nearby while she waited for help.
Now, everyone knows Texas has its share of exotic animals, thanks to some ranches and private collections. But to just see one out there, on the road like it's no big deal? It makes you wonder what else is roaming around out there past Benbrook Lake. Most of us are just trying to avoid the potholes and the folks doing 90 in a 65, not dodge marsupials! It's a reminder that even when you think you've seen it all in this big state, Dallas and our surrounding areas always got another surprise up their sleeve.
Dallas on the wire — big hat, bigger story.
