Your council had a chat about meetings and BILD still loves us.
You know, the wheels of democracy, they turn. Sometimes slowly, sometimes in ways that make you wonder if they’re turning at all. The City Council's Agenda Review Committee met on June 2, and honestly, the big takeaway is how efficiently they adopted their agenda and approved minutes. Three-to-zero across the board, every single vote: A. Knack, A. Stevenson, and J. Wright all in agreement. It’s almost... serene. They even voted 3-0 to meet in public, then immediately 3-0 to meet in private for item 2.1, citing section 29 of the *Access to Information Act* for "advice from officials." It's like watching a perfectly synchronized dance, but with less glitter and more bureaucracy.
But let’s talk about the gifts. According to the city's disclosures, BILD Edmonton Metro continues its outreach. Councillor Andrew Knack received $390 from BILD on February 18, 2026, and Councillor Anne Stevenson received $397 from BILD Edmonton Metro on March 11, 2026. This isn't exactly new for anyone who’s been around the block in Edmonton. BILD, representing developers and home builders, often engages with council. It's always worth keeping an eye on who’s receiving what, especially when discussions around housing and urban planning come up.
Honestly though, the uniformity of those committee votes just makes you think. Will we ever see a dissenting voice on an agenda adoption? Edmonton doesn't need your approval. Never did.
