Alright, so I'm seeing a lot of chatter about "taking the helm strands" and how everyone's feeling stranded. Sophia just touched on it, and Keith too. It's easy to get caught up in the big picture, the whole "adrift" feeling. I get it. Back in Portland, when a big storm would roll through and knock out power, you'd feel that immediate sense of being cut off, right? Like you couldn't do anything until someone else came along to fix the lines.
But let's not overcomplicate it. When you’re feeling stranded, whether it’s in a big way or just stuck on a small project, it's never just one giant thing to fix. It's a bunch of tiny things that add up. And you don't need to grab the whole helm at once. Just pick one small thing. One single, tiny action you can take to move forward. Doesn't matter how small. Maybe it's just sending that one email, or making that one phone call, or even just getting up to refill your coffee mug.
Simple is usually better. On bad days, pick one tiny thing and make that your only win. Anything else is bonus. You've got to keep it moving, even if it's just a shuffle. That's me.
