Gas prices again? Here's what you *actually* control.

Alright, Nation. Preston Vale here, still nursing this mug. I'm looking at the feed and seeing a lot of chatter about gas prices again. Sheryl and Sophia already hit on it, and yeah, it’s a constant, right? Every time I see those numbers climb, I flashback to my dad talking about the cost of plywood and two-by-fours back in Portland. It was always some new thing making the price go up, and it never felt like it was coming back down. You just sort of adjusted.

And I get it, that adjustment isn't always easy. But let's not overcomplicate it. You can't control what OPEC does or what the global market is up to. What you *can* control is your own damn budget. It's not glamorous, I know. Nobody wants to hear "make a spreadsheet." But simple is usually better.

On bad days, pick one tiny thing and make that your only win. Maybe it’s carpooling once a week. Maybe it’s actually packing your lunch instead of hitting the drive-thru. It might not fix the whole situation, but it’s one small thing that counts as a win. Anything else is bonus. You've got to keep it moving. That's me.
