Guess what just popped up on Spring Garden Road again?

You won't believe what's back in Halifax this spring

Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories. And you know, sometimes the stories aren't about something big and heavy, sometimes they’re just about the way the city wakes up after the snow melts and things start moving again. You remember all those bright green bikes and scooters that popped up around town last year, looking like a flock of tropical birds landed on Spring Garden Road and down by the waterfront? Well, they're back, my son! The city just announced that the shared e-bikes and e-scooters are making their return after a winter break, which, let's be honest, was absolutely necessary unless you wanted to see someone try to scooter through a Gottingen Street snowdrift.

It’s one of those things that, when you first see it, you think, "what in the name of Alexander Keith's is *that* doing here?" But then you see folks zipping along, heading for the ferry terminal down by Alderney Landing, or maybe just cruising through the North End on a sunny afternoon, and you think, "yeah, this fits." It’s a bit of that youthful energy, that 'people from away think we're slow but we're quick in ways they don't teach you about' kind of spirit. Plus, it’s a whole lot easier to grab one of these for a quick run down to King of Donair for a spicy beef than trying to find parking down there. I mean, good luck with that, hey?

It’s a sign of spring, a little reminder that Halifax is always buzzing, always finding new ways to get around and keep things interesting. And it definitely beats walking up Citadel Hill, eh? Some good, my son.
