Your kids are playing 'Senior Assassin' here, buddy.
Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories. And this one, my son, well, it’s got folks scratching their heads from the North End right down to Point Pleasant Park. Apparently, our Grade 12 students are out here playing something called 'Senior Assassin,' and it’s getting some attention from the police, which, you know, is never the kind of attention you want to draw. It’s a game where kids track each other down with water guns, trying to "eliminate" their classmates before graduation. There’s even an app for it, keeping score and everything. Wild, eh?
### What This Means for Halifax Families
Now, folks from away might think it sounds like some kind of mischief, and I suppose it is a bit. But you gotta understand, these kids are just trying to blow off some steam before they all head off to universities or out to the fishing boats. The police have been putting out warnings, which is understandable, given how it could look to an outsider when a bunch of teens are running around with what look like weapons. But the kids themselves say it's all in good fun, a last hurrah with their mates.
* **The Game:** Grade 12 students "assassinate" each other with water guns. * **The Tech:** An app tracks players, collects video evidence, and keeps score. * **The Concern:** Police have issued warnings about potential misunderstandings.
It’s one of those things, I reckon, that shows you the energy of these young Haligonians. They’re finding ways to connect and make memories before they scatter. You see them on Spring Garden Road, or down by Alderney Landing, and you know they're just looking for a bit of a thrill. Just gotta make sure that thrill doesn't lead to a misunderstanding, especially with folks who aren't in on the joke. It's a small city, and we look out for each other, even when the kids are getting a little too clever for their own good.
