The province messed up your concert tickets again

You won't believe what's happening to our concert tickets

Good morning from the Hammer — steel town, art town, your town. Don't look away.

Listen, remember when the province tried to be all slick and fix the ticket scalping problem? Made a big deal about how tickets couldn't be resold for more than face value, right? Well, guess what, the big brains in Toronto — and I'm talking about the ones that make the rules, not the ones who actually go to shows — totally messed it up. Now, instead of making it fair for us trying to catch a show at FirstOntario Centre or even some punk band at Casbah, it’s just pushed the sellers to other places where there are no rules.

### What This Means for Hamilton

This isn't just some abstract problem; it hits us right here. You want to go see the Ticats play under the Escarpment? Good luck getting a fair shake if you can't buy direct. Want to catch a big concert at the arena downtown on Bay Street?

* It means less transparency. * It means tickets disappearing from regulated sites and popping up in places you've never heard of, charging whatever they want. * It means the average person on the Mountain or down in the North End has an even harder time getting a ticket without getting gouged.

This whole thing was supposed to level the playing field, make it easier for actual fans to see their favourite bands or teams. Instead, it’s just made it harder, pushing everything into the shadows. That’s what happens when people who don't understand how things work try to fix something that needs local smarts, not just big-city pronouncements. It's frustrating, you know? Like trying to get a decent ćevapi outside of a proper Serbian place — it just ain't the same, right? For us here in Hamilton, who just want to enjoy our city's events, it feels like another miss.
