L.A.'s biggest problem isn't traffic, it's 17,000 trash calls

You won't believe what Angelenos are asking for

Okay so check it— everybody's always talking about what L.A. needs, right? Like, more affordable housing, less traffic on the 101, ya sabes. But when you look at what people are *actually* calling 311 for, it's kinda wild how much of it is about… trash. No mames.

### What’s Really Bugging Us

According to the latest 311 service request data, literally the biggest thing Angelenos are calling about is "Item Pickups." That's like, 8,739 requests. And then "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup" is right behind that, with 6,741 calls and then another 1,649. So, you add that up, and it's over 17,000 calls just about getting stuff picked up off the street.

Here’s the breakdown:

* **Item Pickups:** 8,739 requests * **Illegal Dumping Item Pickup:** 6,741 requests and 1,649 requests (for a total of 8,390) * **Graffiti Removal:** 2,980 requests * **Homeless Encampment:** 1,740 requests

It’s literally almost ten times more calls about trash than about homeless encampments. That’s not to say one is more important, but it tells you what’s getting people on the phone to City Hall. What are we gonna do about all this junk, L.A.? You know the city looks different when it’s clean, fam.

That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.

Oye, my people at MiTL Morning Wire totally get into this every day. You should check it out live at mornings.live.
