Your city made 17,000 trash calls. Are you surprised?

Okay so check it—

### Why is our city still drowning in trash, literally?

You know how you call 311 for everything, right? Like, you see a couch dumped on the street by your cousin's house in Boyle Heights, or some rando graffiti on the wall by Leo's Tacos on La Brea, ya sabes? Well, the numbers just dropped for what Angelenos are actually calling about, and it's wild.

Between all the "Item Pickups" and "Illegal Dumping" requests, we're talking almost 17,000 calls. Neta! That's 9,551 for general item pickups and another 7,387 for illegal dumping. That’s literally the biggest chunk of all the 311 calls. For comparison, "Graffiti Removal" came in next, but it's less than half of the trash problem, hovering around 6,700 total. And homeless encampment requests, while super important, were at 1,679.

What does this even mean? It means people are literally seeing trash everywhere, all the time, and they're fed up. This isn't just a Westside problem, fam. This is the whole city, from Sun Valley to San Pedro. We gotta ask our City Hall what they're actually doing to keep our streets clean, because right now, it feels like they’re not keeping up. Keep an eye on the next budget cycle to see if they put real money into sanitation.

That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.
