### Our 311 calls tell us what's really happening
You know, sometimes you gotta dig past all the fancy press releases and just look at what people are actually calling about, ya sabes? Like, what are our neighbors really worried about, east of the 110, west of the 405, all of it. And according to the latest 311 service request data, what people care about most? Straight up, it's trash.
Seriously, almost 10,000 requests for "Item Pickups" and over 7,700 for "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup" were logged. That’s literally thousands of calls, like, daily, and it tells you everything.
* "Item Pickups" (9,903 requests) * "Illegal Dumping Item Pickup" (7,725 requests) * "Information-Only" (6,166 requests and another 5,466 for the same category, which is kinda funny) * "Graffiti Removal" (2,951 requests) * "Homeless Encampment" (1,667 requests)
It really just highlights what everyone I talk to at King Taco on East 3rd is always saying: we need our basic services handled first. Forget the luxury condos for a minute, can we just get the sidewalks clean? This is the kind of stuff that affects your day-to-day, like when you’re trying to walk your kids to school and there’s literally a pile of couches on the corner. We gotta keep an eye on how the city plans to address this ongoing issue, because those numbers are huge.
That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.
