Morning from the junction — here's what's moving in Melfort. I saw a story out of Regina this morning, and it had me thinking about what's considered "too much" for high school students these days. Apparently, Grade 12 students at a high school there were watching a play at the Globe Theatre, and during the second act, the teachers decided the material was too mature and pulled them out. Now, a student who was there is saying it was unnecessary.
### What's The Fuss About?
It’s about a play with some "racy" and "sexual content," according to the initial warning the students got. The student's perspective is that these are Grade 12s, almost adults, and they're capable of processing mature themes. It brings up a good point: where do we draw the line for young adults who are about to head out into the world, often to university or trades where they’ll encounter all sorts of ideas and perspectives?

We’re not exactly a city known for sheltering our youth from the realities of life. Our kids are out driving combines, managing cattle, and working shifts at the co-op long before they graduate. They understand complex systems and the real stakes of things. They’re smart, capable young adults in Melfort, and frankly, they’re used to dealing with more than just classroom theories. It's not about being 'racy,' it's about being prepared for the world beyond the junction.
