Your neighbors are loud, and City Hall knows it.
So look—we all know New York is loud, right? It's the hum of the city, the sirens, the constant chatter. But deadass, your neighbors and the street noise? That's what's got everyone on the phone to 311. We’re talkin’ 3,765 requests for residential loud music or parties, and another 3,204 for loud music on the street or sidewalk. That’s nearly 7,000 calls just for tunes, people! It's wild.
### What's Bugging You Most
Here’s the thing, according to the latest 311 service requests:
* **Loud Music/Party (Residential):** 3,765 requests * **Loud Music/Party (Street/Sidewalk):** 3,204 requests * **Blocked Hydrant (Illegal Parking):** 3,008 requests * **Banging/Pounding (Residential Noise):** 2,698 requests
It’s clear: noise, especially from parties and residential banging, is really getting under New Yorkers' skin. And look, I get it. You work all day, maybe take the 7 train through Jackson Heights, you just wanna chill, right? Nah. Someone’s blasting reggaeton at 2 AM.
Meanwhile, big players are still hustlin’ at City Hall. Bolton-St. Johns, LLC is already lobbying for Barnard College for 2025. And Lamar Advertising is on the books through 2026. It’s always somethin’ new when you’re talkin’ about who's got the ear of the city.
What's next? Your guess is as good as mine, but if those 311 numbers keep climbing, maybe the city will finally do somethin' about folks thinkin' their apartment is a club.
