So look—you know how the City That Never Sleeps also never stops parking illegally? Yeah, that's what everyone's deadass calling 311 about. Here's the thing: out of all the complaints to 311, the top four are all about some kinda illegal parking situation. We're talking 2,588 requests for "Illegal Parking / Posted Parking Sign Violation" and another 2,522 for "Blocked Hydrant." Like, nah, you can't just leave your car wherever you want, right?
### What's Got Everyone Annoyed
It ain't just the parking, though that's clearly what's driving people nuts. We also got:
* **Loud Music/Party (Street/Sidewalk):** 2,071 complaints * **Blocked Driveway:** 1,971 requests * **Banging/Pounding (Residential):** 1,966 requests
The numbers speak for themselves. People are just trying to live their lives without some rando blocking their driveway or blasting bachata at 3 AM. It’s a quality of life thing, plain and simple.
It's clear what New Yorkers are stressed about. What we gotta watch for is if City Hall starts actually doing something about these constant annoyances, or if we just keep calling 311 'til our fingers fall off. That's New York — if you can't keep up, take the bus.
