Did you stay up last night or what?
Alright, so the Ottawa Senators put on a bit of a clinic last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning, eh? If you tucked in early, you missed quite the third period. It was 2-2 going into the final frame, and then the Sens just absolutely exploded. Jake Sanderson, that kid, he scored twice in a row, including a power-play goal right after Tim Stützle buried one on the man advantage too. Shane Pinto sealed it shorthanded, and before you knew it, the Ottawa Senators had put up six goals to Tampa Bay's two. Brady Tkachuk was all over the ice with three assists, looking like a proper captain, and Joonas Korpisalo held his own with 30 saves. It was a good one, boys.
This win, it's a big one for the Ottawa Senators. We're still sitting fifth in the Atlantic, but holding onto that second Wildcard spot, now with 92 points. We've won six of our last ten, so the boys are finding their rhythm at the right time. The next few games are gonna be crucial, especially with who we're playing — every point matters right now, doesn't it? The mood around town this morning, it's gotta be good. People grabbing their morning coffee down on Elgin Street, they're feeling a bit lighter, I bet.
Eleven-eleven, boys. Eleven-eleven.
