Your home search just got tougher, Peterborough
Here's the thing about Peterborough: real estate always feels like it’s flowing upstream. And it looks like the current is getting stronger, not weaker. The Canadian Real Estate Association, or CREA, just released new podcast episodes for their "REAL TIME" series, and while they don't give us hard local numbers for the Electric City specifically, the general tone of their latest episode, "The Working REALTOR®: Building Long-Term Community in a Short-Term Stay," hints at a broader conversation about how communities are trying to hold onto their identity when housing markets are so fluid.
It's an undercurrent we feel here, especially with the Kawarthas just a stone's throw away. When we talk about "short-term stays," it always makes me think about the pressure on our housing stock, from the Crescent Street neighbourhood near the river to the newer developments up past Trent University. It’s a challenge to build long-term community when properties are seen more as investments than homes.
This is the Electric City — small town, big current. Let's go.
