It’s the real-world conversation happening in conference rooms and HR offices across the country. We’ve seen a lot of shifts lately – the economy, the job market, the way we work. Here’s what matters right now: if you’re in a role where "severance" is even a distant possibility, you need to understand your value. Not just your value to your current employer, but your value to the market. What are your skills? What problems do you solve? Where else can you apply that? We’ve talked a lot on the show about being the rock, about being available and dangerous for a long time. Part of that is knowing your worth and having a plan B, and C, and D. Your family will not give you a trophy for dying on the job, but they will benefit from your foresight.
