Your new event centre means Van Horne Street is GONE.

Your event centre plans just got real, eh?

Bonjour du Nord — c'est Sudbury, on lâche pas. Let's go.

Okay, ben là, I gotta tell you, this little update on Reddit, it's not just a blip, it's a big deal. Van Horne Street, the west end of it, is shutting down for good to make way for the new event centre. Like, permanently. It might not sound like much, but when you're talking about traffic flow downtown, *voyons donc*, that's a whole new ballgame, eh?

### What This Means for Sudbury

This isn't just a detour sign for a few weeks. This is a permanent change to how you get around that part of downtown. Imagine trying to navigate around the crater lakes we call our road system already, and now you've got a whole street disappearing near where the old arena is.

* The Van Horne closure is for the new event centre build. * This affects the west end of Van Horne Street. * It's a permanent change, not just a temporary construction zone.

For anyone who drives through that section, connecting from Brady Street or heading towards the Flour Mill, you're going to feel this. Our downtown core is already… a challenge for drivers, especially with all the one-way streets. This event centre, which is supposed to be this huge boost for the city, is already starting to re-mine our road network. It's proof that sometimes, to build something new, you gotta break something old first, eh? Let's just hope the payoff is worth the headache.
