Your Sudbury water has coliforms. Seriously, what now?

Your water is safe to drink, ben là... maybe not?

Bonjour du Nord — c'est Sudbury, on lâche pas. Let's go. Voyons donc, did you hear about this boil water advisory? Seriously, just when you think you're getting ready for the weekend, Public Health Sudbury and Districts drops this on us. It’s for a *huge* chunk of the city, eh? We're talking from Copper Cliff right through the downtown core, past the Flour Mill, all the way out to New Sudbury and even Val Caron. They found "total coliform" bacteria in the municipal water, which is just… not what you want to hear when you turn on your tap for your morning coffee.

### What This Means for Sudbury

This isn’t just a minor inconvenience, it’s a big deal. Imagine trying to make supper, boil your pasta, or even just brush your teeth, and suddenly you have to boil *all* your water first. It’s affecting tens of thousands of people, and they won't even have a second test back until Friday evening, so this is going to be a long haul for folks.

* Boil all tap water for at least one minute before drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits/veggies, or making ice. * Areas affected include most of the city proper and some surrounding areas like Lively, Azilda, and Garson. * Public Health says the advisory stays until they get two clear tests, which means at least Friday evening, maybe longer.

It really puts a wrench in things, especially when you're used to just grabbing a glass of water from the tap. It reminds you how much we take these basic things for granted, until suddenly, boom, it's not there. For a city that’s constantly working to re-green and rebuild, to have something like our water supply called into question, that’s a tough pill to swallow, eh? We're a tough town, but even we need clean water.

This is a big one for everyone trying to navigate their week. For updates, keep an eye on the Public Health Sudbury and Districts website, and make sure your neighbours know, especially the seniors in our community.

My crew drills down on this every morning – catch them live at mornings.live.
