Your Bolts found a way to win last night, even if it took a little extra time.
Another road game, another grind, but the Tampa Bay Lightning got it done against the Montreal Canadiens, pulling out a 1-0 overtime victory. You know me, I like to see the puck hit the back of the net more than once, but a win is a win, especially when it’s tight like this. Gabriel Goncalves, bless his heart, buried the puck just over nine minutes into overtime, with helpers from Daniel James and Brandon Hagel. Our guys put 33 shots on net to Montreal’s 30, so it was a pretty even back-and-forth battle. Sometimes you just gotta sweat it out, you know?
This win, even if it was a nail-biter, keeps the Tampa Bay Lightning firmly in second place in the Atlantic Division with 106 points. Our last ten games show us at 5-5-0, so we're looking for that consistent push as the season winds down. Every point matters right now, and grabbing both points on the road in overtime is huge for playoff positioning. It's about building that momentum, that confidence that we can close out games, even when the offense isn't fully clicking. This is the kind of character win that reminds me of those deep playoff runs.
Around Tampa, I bet a lot of you woke up breathing a sigh of relief. You know, like when you finally find a parking spot on Seventh Avenue on a Saturday night. It wasn't the flashy 5-goal performance, but it was gritty. We're still right there, still making noise, and that's the main thing. We keep building, we keep fighting, we keep being the Thunder.
