Yo, your TTC is about to get some new names
Okay but real talk—first up, fam, Toronto Fire Services dispatched to an active alarm single source incident at 7:48 AM EST today, June 6, 2026. The location is pending, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on that. We’ll be tracking it on the wires.
Now, let's pivot to something that just hit the City Hall records that's actually kinda cool. On June 3, 2026, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) held a vote that officially carried a presentation on Indigenous Wayfinding for the TTC. Councillor Dianne Saxe voted Yes on this, and it passed 5-3. This means we could start seeing Indigenous languages and signage integrated into our transit system, which, dude, is long overdue and super important for recognizing the land we're on. Plus, they also voted to honour Frederick Langdon Hubbard, passing it 10-0 with Dianne Saxe voting Yes. It’s a move to actually acknowledge folks who shaped our city. These might seem like small things, but it’s about making our city's history and diverse communities visible in our daily grind, especially when you're stuck on the 501 Queen streetcar.
Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.
