But when I heard Manitoba's pharmacists are pushing for more prescription power, it clicked. Our local pharmacists, the folks at Boundary Trails Pharmacy or Shoppers in the Winkler strip mall, they're more than just pill counters. They're often your first stop for health advice, especially when the waiting list for a doctor feels longer than the line for free corn at the Corn and Apple Festival.
### What This Means for Winkler-Morden
Think about it. We've got a growing population — Morden alone grew 14.5% in five years, something most of rural Canada can only dream of. That growth means more people, and more people means more demand for healthcare. If our pharmacists could do more, it would ease the burden on our doctors and the Boundary Trails Health Centre.
