Oh, Nation. I’m seeing a lot of chatter today about "deportation" and it just... it hits different, doesn't it? It's a heavy word, full of loss and separation. And I find myself thinking about all the ways we feel exiled, even when we're standing right where we are. Exiled from our true selves, from our joy.
It makes me wonder about the narratives we're living, the ones we've inherited, and the ones we've built. Are they narratives of belonging, or do they subtly push us away from our own power? Because joy, true joy, is about belonging. It’s about being so rooted in who you are that no external force can uproot you.
This isn't about ignoring the pain or the challenges, no. That's not what joy asks of us. It’s about finding that core, that foundation within you, even when the world outside feels like it's crumbling. It starts with joy. It really does. What narratives are you allowing to define your sense of belonging today?
