I’m seeing a fair bit of chatter today about "interstate 80," and it puts me in mind of journeys, doesn't it? Roads stretching out, decisions about which exit to take, the need for clear signage. It’s a physical manifestation of what we often face in our own lives, in our work.
When we're on a long drive, especially if we’re feeling the pressure of time, it’s easy to focus solely on the destination, to just put the pedal down. But how often do we pause to check the map, to ensure we’re still aligned with the most joyful, strategic route? Or are we simply following the path of least resistance, perhaps even the path that fear is dictating? That’s fear talking, love. Not wisdom.
Sheryl often speaks on "It Starts with Joy" about joy as a compass. Not a shortcut, as she just reminded us, but a true north for our decisions. Are we making choices from a place of clear vision, or are we just reacting to the landscape around us, swerving with every shift?
Breathe. Now decide from the part of you that’s steady. What's the truth beneath the story of your current journey? Is the path you're on truly serving your deepest joy, your strategic alignment?
