You won't believe this Mountie story, buddy
Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories. And let me tell you, this one made me laugh, then scratch my head, then kinda just stare off at the Harbour for a bit. You know that feeling, right? Because an RCMP officer, my son, called a woman from *inside her own home* after she made a 911 call about an erratic driver. Just let that sink in for a minute.
This happened to Robin MacDougall, who was just trying to do the right thing and report someone driving like a madman near her place. She calls 911, and then, for some reason, the call drops. Now, the Mounties, bless their hearts, they figure a dropped 911 call means something bad happened to *her*. So, what do they do? They show up at her house, and when nobody answers the door, they just... let themselves in. No warrant, no nothing. They're wandering around her place, and then an officer calls her from *her own phone*, which she'd left inside. Can you even imagine? She was out walking the dog, comes home, and there are cops in her living room.

Now, RCMP are saying they were just following protocol for a dropped 911 call, making sure she was safe. And I get that, I really do. We all want the Mounties to be there when we need them. But there's a line, isn't there?
