Your MHAs just lost speaking privileges. What's next?

Your MHAs are acting like a bunch of scallywags!

Whaddya at, b'y — this is St. John's, oldest city in North America, and we're still here. Let's go.

I'll tell ya one thing, b'y, you'd think in da House of Assembly, da place where all da big decisions for our province get made, you'd have a bit of respect, eh? But no, not dese ones. Da Speaker, Paul Lane himself, had to stand up dere and give 'em all a proper scolding about dere decorum, tellin' 'em to wise up. And whaddya think happened? Two of 'em, a Liberal and a PC, went right ahead and lost dere speakin' privileges da very next day! Just like a couple of school kids after bein' told to sit down.

Now, I'm not sayin' politics ain't heated, especially wit' all da big challenges we got here in St. John's and 'round da bay – like da gas prices goin' over two dollars a litre, b'y! But when you're elected to represent da people, to speak for 'em, and you're gettin' told off like dat, it really makes you wonder. It's not just about one MHA bein' a bit too boisterous, it's about da whole tone down dere on Confederation Hill. You want to see 'em focused on da issues, on da folks strugglin' to make ends meet, not on who can shout loudest or interrupt da most.

### Why This Matters in St. John's

* **It's a reflection on us, b'y:** Our MHAs represent us, da people of St. John's, from da Battery to da west end. When dey act up, it makes us all look a bit... well, boasty.

* **Wastin' time:** Every minute dey're bickerin' and gettin' kicked out is a minute dey ain't talkin' about things like adoption wait times or what's happenin' wit' Stephenville airport.

* **Less faith in da system:** People are already a bit cynical about politics. When you see dis kinda carry-on, it just makes it worse. We need leaders we can trust to be grown-ups.

I'll tell ya, b'y, it's enough to make you just shake yer head. We got big things happenin' in our beautiful city, from da icebergs showin' up early for Twillingate's festival to da ongoing debates about Hydro-Quebec. We need serious people in dat House, not a bunch of goofs who can't even hold dere tongue after a warnin'. It just makes you wonder what kind of example dey're settin' for da young Newfoundlanders who are already makin' plans to leave for Fort Mac. We need 'em to see a future here, not a circus.
