You've seen the fog roll in so thick you can't see the Narrows, you've seen the gales that'd rip the paint off your Jellybean Row house, and you've definitely seen some wild things down on George Street after last call. But a *bee swarm* shutting down the library? That's a new one even for us. Down at the A.C. Hunter Library, right there on the Arts and Culture Centre grounds overlooking Prince Philip Drive, hundreds of bees decided they needed to get their hands on a good book. They swarmed the main entrance, making it impossible for anyone to get in or out. Can you imagine trying to explain that to a tourist? "Sorry, me 'andsome, can't get ya a copy of *Random Passage*, da bees are having a meeting on the steps."

This isn't just a funny story, b'y, though it certainly is that. It’s a little reminder of how close we are to nature, even in da middle of da city. The A.C. Hunter Library is a real hub, not just for university students from MUN but for everyone, from seniors looking for da daily paper to kids picking out their first chapter books. Having it shut down, even for a day because of something as wild as a bee invasion, throws a real wrench in folks' routines.
