Your TTC just got an upgrade, fam

Okay but real talk—did you know what your City Hall was up to while you were still snoozing, dreaming of roti from that spot on Lawrence? Your Toronto Transit Commission had a busy day on July 22, 2026.

Here’s the breakdown:

* **Fare Collection System Update:** This item, aimed at improving how we all pay for our rides, was carried with a 7-0 vote. Councillors Dianne Saxe and Jamaal Myers both voted "Yes" on this one, according to the recent council votes record. Councillor Josh Matlow was marked absent, though.

* **Honouring Howard Moscoe:** Also on July 22, the TTC voted to honour Howard Moscoe. This motion passed with an 8-0 vote. Saxe and Myers again voted "Yes." Moscoe was a long-time city councillor, fam, and this is about recognizing his contributions to our city.

This means the TTC is moving forward with modernizing how we get around, hopefully making those commutes a little smoother. Keep an eye out for what these fare system updates actually look like when they roll out.

Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.
