For real though, you gotta keep an eye on where the city's putting its chips, and this week, it looks like we're drilling into some serious development. Our real-time Civic Intelligence Monitor, updated just this morning at 12:05 PM MT, shows 26 commercial and new construction permits issued in Calgary this week. That's a steady hum, meaning the cranes aren't exactly slowing down across the city.
### What's Moving Through City Hall
Speaking of moving, the Calgary Planning Commission was busy on March 12th, pushing through a couple of big reports. Reports CPC2026-0209 and CPC2026-0143 both sailed through with unanimous "Yes" votes from Commissioners like Nathan Hawryluk, Thom Mahler, Charles Boechler, Katherine Wagner, and Chris Hardwicke. This stuff sounds like jargon, but it means more projects are getting the green light to head to Council for final approval. These votes are the bedrock for what our city's gonna look like next year, from new businesses to housing developments. This is Calgary – we've seen the boom, we've seen the bust, and we showed up anyway.
