Did you fall asleep and miss the Dallas Stars get it done?
Y'all, if you turned this one off early, you missed a barn burner. The Dallas Stars absolutely refused to lose last night against the Calgary Flames, pulling off a 4-3 overtime win right here at home. We were down two goals in the third period – a real gut punch after Zach Parekh scored on the power play for Calgary just 26 seconds in. But Wyatt Johnston, bless his heart, answered back a minute later, and then our captain, Jason Robertson, tied it up at 4:51. It was Wyatt Johnston again in overtime, on the power play, cleaning up a beautiful setup from Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen. We had less shots on goal, 20 to their 25, but when it mattered most, the Dallas Stars found a way to finish.
This win, honey, it means everything. After a bit of a rough patch, going 3-5-2 in our last ten, getting this W at home against the Calgary Flames is huge for the mood around Dallas. We're still sitting at 46-20-12, good for 104 points and holding onto second in the Central Division. This kind of comeback win, especially heading into what's shaping up to be a tight race, reminds everyone exactly what this team is made of. The grit, the refusal to quit – that's the Deep Ellum spirit this city was built on. It's the kind of confidence boost we needed, letting everyone know we're still fixin' to make a serious run.
