It seems like City Hall is actually pushing some projects through, eh? I was just looking at the latest building permits and active development applications. The real story is never on the Hill – it's always just off it.
### Housing is on the move, literally
One thing that really jumped out from the issued building permits is the massive site servicing project at 1082 Lakeshore Road East in Ward 1. We’re talking over a million dollars — $1,118,910, to be exact — just for the groundwork for nineteen residential buildings. That’s a lot of new homes coming to the east end.
And it’s not just that one. There's an active development application, SP 25 68, for a Section 47 on Block 8 at that very same Lakeshore Road East address. It looks like the city isn’t wasting any time getting these residential projects off the ground. Plus, a new second unit permit for a basement apartment in Ward 2 on Comet Court, adding more density. It's clear that the city is actually trying to get more housing built. You know, I've heard some people say Ottawa is boring, but it's really just *structured*. There's a difference.
