Your City Hall talk this week was all about the weather, eh?
This is Regina — yeah, we know what it sounds like, and we've heard your joke. Now sit down and listen.
*Tânisi* Regina. Darlene Chicken-Lawson here, giving you the rundown of what we’ve been chatting about this week from City Hall. It's been a week where, oh for sure, the weather took centre stage. We started off still talking about homes and housing affordability, which, you know, is always on our minds here in the Queen City.
**Weather Takes Over**
But then, things shifted dramatically. The last couple of days, City Hall chatter, and my reports to you, have been all about those heavy weather warnings Environment Canada has been issuing. We're talking about serious conditions rolling in, not just a little prairie breeze, eh?
* Early in the week, the focus was housing, housing, housing. * By mid-week, the weather started to dominate discussions. * Multiple warnings are still in effect for Regina and the surrounding areas.
So, while we always have an eye on how to keep folks housed, this week really brought home that Saskatchewan weather can change a conversation in a heartbeat. It’s important to stay safe out there, Regina.
