Your home sale is all about community, eh?
This is Regina — yeah, we know what it sounds like, and we've heard your joke. Now sit down and listen.
It's been a bit quiet on the usual City Hall beat, eh? No big bylaw changes or new development proposals stirring things up this week. But you know what always keeps rolling? The housing market, and how we talk about it. The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has a podcast called REAL TIME, and they just dropped an episode that really speaks to us here in Regina, called "The Working REALTOR®: Building Long-Term Community in a Short-Term Stay." It’s all about how realtors are actually part of the fabric of our neighbourhoods, not just selling houses.
You see, for a city like Regina, where everyone knows everyone and we truly are a community, your realtor isn't just a transaction – they're often folks you run into at the grocery store, or whose kids play on the same hockey team at the Al Ritchie Arena. They're helping new folks settle in, telling them about the best places in the Cathedral District for coffee, or where to catch a Pats game. It’s a good reminder that even in what can feel like a busy market, those personal connections are what build up our city, block by block.
What this means for us is keeping an eye on how these connections keep our market stable, and how newcomers are welcomed into our big, prairie family.
