So, you know how we always say St. John's is a small town in a big city? Well, let me tell ya, this story out of da Health Sciences Centre just proves it. There's a couple, Michelle and Andrew, right here in St. John's, who formed an unbelievable connection wit' a woman from Trinidad. Wendy Salandy was flying over to Europe, see, when she had a medical emergency that forced her plane to divert to our airport, and she ended up in da hospital here. She was alone, far from home, and dat’s where Michelle and Andrew stepped in, offering her comfort and support like she was family.
I'll tell ya one thing, b'y, it’s not every city where something like this happens. Wendy was in a strange place, but she found a piece of home right here on da Rock. Michelle and Andrew showed her da true spirit of Newfoundland hospitality, the kind you hear about in stories.
