Your short term rental application was approved
You know, sometimes things just… glide through. Quietly, efficiently, like a Skytrain on a Sunday morning. That’s how a recent short-term rental application passed through a Special Council meeting on April 21st. The application, Business Licence No. AL0188353 for 1801-1788 Columbia Street, was carried unanimously by the councillors present.
It's interesting to see these things, isn't it? Councillor B. Montague, L. Zhou, and S. Orr all voted in favour. Councillor R. Bligh was marked absent for that particular vote, as well as for a public hearing on April 14th regarding a CD-1 text amendment for Canada Place and West Waterfront Road. Both items still passed without issue.
It suggests a kind of momentum, a clear direction from City Hall on certain types of applications, even when not every seat is filled. You wonder what kind of precedent this sets, especially as conversations about housing availability keep swirling around the city. Beautiful out here. Complicated in here. That's the coast.
