Your Victoria City Hall is bringing arcade dreams to life

Well, here's the thing about what your City Hall has been up to. There’s a certain charm in seeing new ventures bloom, isn't there? We've just seen a new business licence issued for ARCADIA, an "Entertainment - Amusement Centre" at 707 Johnson Street. Licence number 48095. An arcade, right there in the heart of things. What does this mean for our downtown core? Perhaps a touch more of that vibrant energy we sometimes yearn for, beyond the usual evening strolls and coffee breaks.
And speaking of interesting developments, Hazel’s Ice Cream Ltd. has secured not one, but two mobile bicycle vendor licences (40784 and 40447). Imagine, more opportunities for a sweet treat on a sunny day as you wander through Beacon Hill Park or along the Inner Harbour.
We also have a new Downtown Veterinary Clinic at 736 Caledonia Avenue (Licence 22734), which is certainly a welcome addition for our furry friends. But the most intriguing detail from these recent licences? An amusement centre. It suggests a subtle shift, perhaps a small nod to those who’d like a bit more playful escapism in their day-to-day.
