Your City Hall just okayed new fun and furry friends
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine.
Well, here's the thing about what’s happening at City Hall, or at least what they’ve signed off on recently. It seems we’re getting more places for both treats and pets, which, if you ask me, is rather a lovely combination for a city. The latest business licences, freshly minted, show a particular tilt towards the pleasant.
* **Arcadia** is setting up an amusement centre at 707 Johnson Street. An entertainment spot. * **Downtown Veterinary Clinic** has received its professional license at 736 Caledonia Avenue. So, more care for our furry, feathered, or scaled companions. * And, rather delightfully, **Hazels Ice Cream Ltd** has two new mobile bicycle vendor licenses. Yes, two. Which means more ice cream, likely appearing in various sunny spots around town.
It’s an interesting mix, isn't it? A bit of joy, a bit of care, and more ways to cool down when the summer truly arrives. The business registry, I find, often tells you what kind of mood a city is in. These seem to indicate a certain lightness, a focus on the smaller, everyday pleasures. We’ll see where these new ventures pop up first. Perhaps a Hazels bicycle near Beacon Hill Park, where the peacocks roam freely, or perhaps down by the Inner Harbour. One can dream.
