If you've been on the roads this morning, you've probably noticed it's a bit slick. Our real-time intelligence monitor has flagged three motor vehicle collisions between 4:30 AM and 6:57 AM today, hey. These crashes happened in Chalmers and The Maples, and road conditions are a suspected factor. It’s barely above freezing out there, and that fresh layer of frost can really sneak up on you, hey. Give yourself extra time if you’re heading out, especially on those residential streets that don't always get cleared first thing.
We’re also keeping an eye on the William Whyte neighbourhood, which has seen five business closures in the last month. That's part of a larger trend, with 32 closures across the city, including clusters in Spence and West Alexander. But it's not all bad news on the business front: seven new liquor license applications were posted this week, including Ocean Bites and Charito Bakery, so there's always something new bubbling up, you know.
